So, here we are, after 12 months in waiting & expected by many people. Introducing to you our newest member in the Jakarta VW Campervan fleet; Pink Floyd. Yes, as usual, the name is given based on the color (i.e. pink & white) & the rock group band.
Akhirnya setelah 12 bulan masa penantian & telah ditanyakan banyak orang, Campervan kami yang terbaru sudah siap. Sesuai pakemnya, Campervan warna pink-putih ini dinamakan Pink Floyd.

Exterior; it’s a replica of the world’s famous Volkswagen 23-windows Samba. The Volkswagen Samba, in the United States also known as Sunroof Deluxe, was the most luxurious version of the Volkswagen Transporter T1. Volkswagen started producing Sambas in 1951 until 1967.
Eksteriornya mengikuti salah satu model minibus Volkswagen yang sangat terkenal di dunia, yaitu Samba atau juga Sunroof Deluxe. Samba ini adalah model Volkswagen Transporter generasi pertama (T1) yang paling mewah & dibuat dari tahun 1951 sampai 1967.

Originally Volkswagen vans were classified according to the number of windows they had. This particular model had 23 and later 21 windows including eight panoramic windows in the roof. To distinguish it from the normal 23 or 21-window Volkswagen van the name Samba was coined.
Awalnya minibus Volkswagen digolongkan berdasarkan jumlah jendelanya. Model Samba ini mempunyai 23 jumlah jendela, lalu menjadi 21, termasuk delapan jendela kecil tambahan di bagian atap. Untuk membedakan dengan minibus model 23 atau 21 jendela yang lain, lalu nama Samba diberikan.

The Samba had two pivot doors, instead of a sliding door. In addition the Samba had a fabric sunroof. At that time Volkswagen advertised with the idea of using the Samba to make tourist trips through the Alps in Europe.
Model Samba mempunyai dua pintu ayun samping, bukan pintu geser. Di atapnya, Samba mempunyai jendela sunroof yang ditutup dengan bahan terpal. Pada mulanya, Volkswagen memasarkan model Samba untuk dipakai para turis di pegunungan Alpen, Eropa.

Sambas were standard painted in two colors. Usually, the upper part was colored white. The two colored sections were separated by a decorative strip.
Menurut standard, Samba dicat dua warna. Umumnya, bagian atas diwarnai putih. Kedua bagian badan mobil yang berbeda warna dipisahkan oleh sebuah strip dekoratif.
Nice, neat, clean & modern 1700cc engine, with double-carburetors, dual-alternators, dual batteries & AC. The passengers convenience & reliability are the key here.
When Volkswagen started producing the successor of the T1 (the T2) the company also stopped producing the Samba so there are no Sambas in later versions of the Volkswagen Transporter.
Ketika Volkswagen mulai memproduksi minibus generasi kedua (T2), maka model Samba pun dihentikan pembuatannya. Model Samba tidak lagi dibuat di generasi-generasi minibus berikutnya.

The two rear-facing buddy seats are also storage & portable. You may place them outside adding more seats on a camping location or you may leave them at home if you need more cabin space for carrying cargo.

As the famous Samba, it has eight ceiling-mounted little windows so called Skylight windows; four on each side. And the best of all, it has an extra large panoramic roof with sliding fabric cover, so called rag-top. At the camping ground, you may lay on the bed at night & looking at stars in the sky. Driving at the mountains, you can also leave it open & let the cool & fresh air blowing in abundantly. Trust me, the children sitting in the back will love it so much.
Seperti di model Samba, ada empat jendela kecil masing-masing di sisi kiri & kanan atap, yang dinamakan Skylight windows. Dan yang paling banyak disukai orang, ada sebuah sunroof panoramik yang sangat besar di tengah-tengah. Tutupnya terbuat dari bahan kanvas yang lalu dinamakan rag-top. Di lokasi camping, sambil baringan di tempat tidur, kita dapat melihat bintang-bintang di langit melalu sunroof ini. Jika mobil sedang jalan di pegunungan atau dataran tinggi, sunroof ini dapat dibiarkan terbuka & udara sejuk segar melimpah mengisi seisi kabin. Pecayalah, anak-anak yang duduk di belakang akan sangat menyukainya.

All of our Campervans are equipped with classic style roof rack & rear rack. Pink Floyd has two separated roof racks; i.e. 2-legs & 3-legs ones. The separated roof rack is to accommodate the middle large sunroof. The rear rack can hold up to two bicycles. The side-awning is also a standard item. It is mounted onto the roof racks. It provides a shade during a hot day or wet day.
Semua Campervan kami dilengkapi dengan rak atap & rak belakang yang bergaya klasik. Pink Floyd mempunyai dua rak atap terpisah, yaitu satu dengan dua kaki & satunya lagi dengan tiga kaki. Kedua rak atap ini sengaja didesain untuk terpisah agar tak menghalangi sunroof besar di tengah. Rak belakang dapat memuat sampai dua buah sepeda. Tenda samping juga merupakan kelengkapan standard. Tenda ini diikat ke rak atap & menyediakan perlindungan terhadap panas sinar matahari atau juga di waktu hujan.

Three female Police officers from Polwan Korlantas Polresta Cimahi came & visited Pink Floyd. Coincidentally, these Polwan, nicknamed ‘Hello Kitty Police’, are from the recently formed pink Police task-force.
